Love, Inclusion, Family, Equality: Mardi Gras Parade 2015 Glamazon All Stars

By Deb Carr

I was invited to a rooftop get together yesterday by my friend, Ethan, who happens to live in the same building, to join him and some of his friends for a drink. They were actually having a meeting to chat about raising funds for their 2015 Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras float and I was welcome to come up and join them for a drink. I was immediately welcomed into this group of people I had never met, in fact I felt included, loved, equal and as part of their 'family'.

Apart from spending a lovely Saturday afternoon with my new friends, there is a very special message that I'm sharing here, and the reason I'm writing this post; Did you know that without the Mardi Gras Parade and the people who fought for us in 1978, there would be no chance we'd have the Equal Rights that we have today?

LOVE

INCLUSION

FAMILY

EQUALITY

that's LIFE!
