With the weather starting to warm up, now is the perfect time to grab the kids and explore some of Sydney’s best playgrounds. The many features of each park will keep the kids happy for hours, whilst you can enjoy some downtime or even join in on the fun!
Blaxland Riverside Park
Located along the Parramatta River, the Blaxland Riverside Park will keep your family entertained for hours. There is an adventure playground which has giant swings, slides and even a double flying fox. A climbing tower and 12 metre tree house is also close by. To cool off, there is also a water play area for the warmer days.
If you feel like exploring, you can opt to walk or cycle along the riverside walking trail (bike hire is available from the information office). Free BBQ facilities are available, with large shade clothes provided, so you can beat the heat and claim a picnic spot.
Domain Creek Playground
For hours of fun, Domain Creek Playground is the place to go. The equipment in the magnificent playground is connected by a series of walkways and along the journey, life like sculptures of Australian reptiles can be found.
There is a large slippery slide where children have to first climb up a rope ladder to get to the top of the slide. Moving on, there is a horizontal climbing frame which stands half a metre off the ground, several sandpits, mini trampolines which have been built into the ground, and of course swings.
Darling Harbour Children’s Playground
With a large circular swing, a whole heap of wobbly balance ropes, a 21 metre flying fox, and giant steel slides, Darling Harbour Children’s Playground isn’t one to miss. There is even a 10-metre-tall Octanet for the kids to climb over, and perhaps try to race each other to the top.
And for the warmer days, there is also a water play area with pumps and water buckets to play with.
Livvi’s Place
This bright and inviting playground features equipment which has been carefully thought out and laid to allow all kids to play together, side by side. Here they can have fun on a double flying fox, sway bridges, climbing nets, swings, and even musical and percussion elements. If you follow a spiral pathway you will also find a pole garden, amongst hills and tunnels.
There is even a double-width slide with ramp access for wheelchairs, making this playground perfect for all little adventurers.
Wulaba Park
One of Sydney’s newer play spaces, Wuluba Park has many features which will keep the kids entertained for hours. There is a giant slide, a colorful climbing tower, many tunnels and swings on offer for exploring. Handball and table tennis courts are another feature which makes this park even more fun.
A landscaped picnic and barbecue area is also on the grounds, so you and the kids can sit back and relax after playing.
