Today I took Grace through a 45-minute workout blasting her whole body and with the goal of fat loss in mind!

When setting up workouts for fat loss, exercise selection isn’t that important, but how you structure the workout is!

Setting up two exercises at a time, we ‘supersetted’ an upper body exercise with a lower body exercise. Doing this is the best way to torch fat and burn as many calories during a session as possible - going back and forth between upper body and lower body forces the heart to work hard to ‘shunt’ blood up and down

I try to select as many ‘compound’ or big exercises as possible working as many muscle groups as we can. This makes the workout more effective and means we don’t have to spend all day in the gym trying to get results!

Three best tips for losing the muffin top this Summer

  1. Calories are king! Remember, just because something is ‘healthy’, doesn’t mean its going to get you the body you want. Beware of foods such as nuts, avocado, oils and butter

  2. You need to lift weights! None of the toned, sculpted bodies you see down at Bondi got that way from only doing cardio. Get to the gym and get the work done!

  3. SELF CONTROL. Stop sabotaging yourself on the weekend! A big weekend blowing out and eating whatever you want can undo two hard weeks of dieting. Stick to the plan, and the results will come

Why should you look at personal training as an investment?

Goal Achievement

A personal trainer helps you define your fitness goals. Thing into account current fitness levels they can help carve out a clear vision for what you can realistically achieve.

Personalised Workout

Personal trainers create a specific workout plan just for you based on what you want to achieve. The personalized plan typically gives you better results than a general workout plan.

Instruction

A professional trainer teaches you the proper way to perform each exercise movement in your routine. Learning how to perform exercises properly reduces your risk of injury.

Motivation

Motivation is often difficult to maintain when you exercise on your own. Regular sessions with a personal trainer enhance your motivation to continue with a workout regimen.

Accountability

Another common problem is lack of commitment to a regular exercise program. When you exercise on your own, it is easier to skip a session here and there or fall off the wagon completely since there's no one to hold you accountable for your actions.

Variety

An experienced trainer teaches you a variety of exercise methods, which can keep you from getting bored.

Efficiency

A professional personal trainer is able to make the most of your workout time, which increases the efficiency of your exercise program.
