Niji Sushi is a fabulous restaurant in Double Bay that offers a selection of sharing dishes. There is a choice of seating from banquet, more casually at the sushi bar, outside to watch the world go by or even upstairs in a private dining room. The sleek wooden decor certainly adds to the ambience, I immediately felt welcomed.
There is plenty on offer i.e. degustation with sake pairing menu, signature degustation menu or you can make up your own selection from their a la carte menu.
As well as the great food, Niji have an interesting cocktail menu, extensive wine list, high quality sake and variety of tap beer.
The restaurant is beautifully designed with a warm ambience and efficient staff.

kingfish, ponzu, lemon, red hawaiian salt
soft shell crab, ao-nori, yuzu mayo, lime
Tiger prawn, quail egg, basil lime
Omakase w Wine & Sake Matching- degustation (min 2person) - matched with Niji's handpicked selection of wine & sake with an accompaniment of tea or coffee
Rose & Mary’s Tail Cocktail which is a berry-infused gin, green chartreuse, yuzu, rosemary, drambuie
At the launch I tried an incredible dessert which was made with french pastries with pistachio wasabi cream....it was delicious.
Niji looks extremely expensive however you will be pleasantly surprised.
