Travel Review: The Sebel Kirkton Park Hunter Valley NSW

Sebel Kirkton Park

What could be better than waking up in the morning to this beautiful picture? Well that's exactly what I experienced when I recently stayed at the Sebel Kirkton Park to attend a wedding. I always love visiting the Hunter Valley and this is the second time I have stayed at this magnificent property; the first being when I was facilitating a social media and blogging course. I can recommend the Sebel Kirkton Park as a great venue for workshops and conferences.

Sebel Kirkton Park

I stayed in one of the suites at Sebel Kirkton Park and I must confess I was feeling rather spoilt having this beautiful room to stay in to get ready for the wedding. Here I am pictured taking a 'selfie' just prior to leaving for the wedding. The suite was spacious, elegant and clean.

The bed was super comfortable and I certainly slept well when I arrived back to the room after the wedding, which was held outside in 42 degree heat! The bathroom was also very clean and was fitted out with gold accessories and Appelles toiletries.

I found the staff very helpful and accomodating at the Sebel Kirkton Park and even when I arrived home at 10.00 pm to discover my door swipe card wasn't working because it had been bent, it was soon quickly replaced and I was settled in before I knew it.

I did have one dilemma on the day and it was totally my own fault. As usual, I leave things to the very last minute so I tried to arrange transport to and from the wedding the day before which was about 20 minutes drive, and of course this was proving a problem with one taxi company in Kurri Kurri quoting $150 each way! No thanks, I'd rather walk for that price. However, Hunter Valley Tours came to my rescue and picked me up and dropped me back for $30 each way.

Sebel Kirkton Park

The Sebel Kirkton Park is set on 70 acres so the views surrounding the property are absolutely stunning. Guests are free to wander around the property and when they do so they will discover some very interesting things including a vegetable garden, dams, fountains and even a pen with chickens and pigs!

Since I arrived just before lunch I decided to go to the bar to eat. By the way the room service menu is good too with the food the same as the menu in the bar. I opted for the pork belly which was tender and extremely tasty! It was just the right size too.

In the morning I opted for the Continental breakfast whilst I sat in the gorgeous dining room that overlooks the rose garden.

Unfortunately I did not get to try the dinner menu in Locavore Dining as I was at the wedding. The dining room is beautiful; keeping to the blue and white theme throughout the venue.

For those who enjoy a swim you can do so in the beautiful pool. Or you may prefer to relax in the spa and sauna. There is also a small gym for those who want to exercise as well as tennis and basketball facilities including racquets and balls, or you can run around the property, and take in all the beautiful views and fresh air.

The hotel offers free internet connection and 11.00 a.m. checkout.

Sebel Hunter Valley

The Sebel Kirkton Park is a stunning place to stay for a holiday, wine tasting weekend, conference and of course weddings in the Hunter Valley. I can't wait to go back.
