Hello, I’m Deb Carr — founder and editor of Sydney Chic.

 

I launched Sydney Chic in 2013, back when blogging was still finding its place in the digital landscape. Over the years, the site grew alongside Sydney’s lifestyle scene, covering theatre, events, dining, travel, and culture. I worked closely with PR agencies, attended industry events, and had the opportunity to feature a wide range of creatives and experiences across the city. In 2017, I was honoured to be recognised as one of Australia’s Top Online Influencers.

As life evolved, so did I.

I eventually left Sydney for the quieter pace of coastal NSW, trading city life for a more balanced way of living. While my surroundings changed, my commitment to writing and publishing never did. Sydney Chic continued to grow — shaped by experience, perspective, and a deeper appreciation for thoughtful storytelling.

Today, Sydney Chic is a carefully curated, ad-light lifestyle platform with a strong focus on Sydney theatre, events, experiences, and travel. I continue to collaborate with respected PR agencies, publish high-performing theatre reviews and guides, and write content that is informed, independent, and considered.
