How young is too young to get injectable filler in your face

With COVID forcing millions of people into lock down and on to platforms such as ZOOM, it’s no surprise that demand for non-surgical cosmetic procedures has soared as people pursue the perfect ZOOM face.

“What we have also noticed is an increase in the number of younger people wanting injectable treatments,” Dr Vivek Eranki said.

According to Dr Eranki of Australia’s leading network of cosmetic clinics, Cosmetique, does not treat patients younger than 18 years of age, however anyone of 18 years of age or older can consider injectable treatment.

“We are seeing a rise in demand for non-surgical treatments from women in their 20s,” Dr Eranki explained.

“A lot of people think that injectable wrinkle relaxers are something that only older people have to reduce and remove lines once they are highly visible on the face, but in fact, they are also used as preventable treatment as well.

“Usually when someone in their 40s and 50s has an injectable wrinkle relaxing and dermal filler treatment in the face for the first time, they are wanting the signs of ageing to be reversed. This is usually because the lines and wrinkles are quite developed and it takes a larger quantity of filler to reduce the lines and deliver a smoother looking surface.

“As we know, lines and wrinkles build up on the face over time due to age, weather, and lifestyle.

“Injectable wrinkle relaxers can be used in your early to late 20s to delay or even prevent the development of wrinkles and lines. In fact, if you do choose to start having injectable treatments in your 20s, you only need a small amount in the face to eliminate the development of lines.

“Because of this, the treatments are less noticeable.”

Dr Eranki believes that the pressure of online conferencing has prompted many people to turn to injectables to achieve a fresher younger looking appearance.

“Overall, we have seen an increase of 300 plus percent in the number of men and women wanting wrinkle relaxers and dermal fillers,” Dr Eranki emphasised.

“Most people want lines removed while others have noticed that their face doesn’t look completely symmetrical and they want this corrected.”
