AUSTRALIAN FASHION LAUREATE 2014 WINNERS ANNOUNCED
(Sydney, 9 April, 2014) - IMG Fashion along with Destination New South Wales and The Weekend Australian Magazine announced this evening the 2014 winners of the Australian Fashion Laureate. The event marked the first time an additional four categories were awarded, in recognition of professional achievement in the categories of Retailer, Emerging Designer, Menswear and Womenswear.
Established seven years ago the Australian Fashion Laureate celebrates professionals whose careers have promoted and advanced the Australian fashion industry internationally and truly a distinct honor as they are voted for by a panel of industry peers. Last year, the next chapter of this program announced the development of a curriculum that recognizes the Australian Fashion Laureate, plus the additional four categories focused on those who are breaking ground and driving the Australian fashion scene forward in a positive way thru excellence in their category.
The 2014 Australian Fashion Laureate awards were presented to the following:
Australian Fashion Laureate: Zimmerman
Womenswear: Dion Lee
Menswear: Arthur Galan
Emerging: Christopher Esber
Retailer: Scanlan & Theodore

Over the last 7 years, the Australian Fashion Laureate recognized Akira Isogawa, Carla Zampatti, Simon Lock, Pamela Easton and Lydia Pearson, Collette Dinnigan and Jenny Kee.
