On Saturday, September 12 2015, Sydney’s premier fashion retailers, eateries and bars are joining forces for the inaugural Fashion Saturday event.
Encompassing venues across Darlinghurst, Newtown, Paddington, Potts Point, Pyrmont and Surry Hills, Fashion Saturday will see the city’s top boutiques, eateries and bars hosting bespoke events and exclusive promotions to create the ultimate day out for the Sydney shopper.
With over 100 independent Sydney businesses involved, the full day of activities will include everything from a fashion film screening of Gillian Armstrong’s Women He’s Undressed at Golden Age Cinema to the Collette Dinnigan: Unlaced exhibition at Powerhouse Museum. Beauty aficionados can stop by Paddington’s Murphy Gozzard hair salon for cuts and colours, with live DJs and free Keratese samples. Shoppers will be also be treated to exclusive promotions, one-on-one sessions with personal stylists, and gifts with purchase at retailers including Gorman, Rachel Gilbert, Funkis and more.
Creative types can enjoy a fashion illustration exhibition from acclaimed Australian artist Anya Brock, or take part in a street style photography workshop with renowned fashion photographer Giuseppe Santamaria at the Australian Centre for Photography. Stylish culinary experiences will also be on offer, with a high tea by The Edible Beauty Apothecary at Tluxe, complimentary fashion-inspired cupcakes including a French mousse Coco le Chanel variety at Black Velvet Sydney, plus fashion-inspired cocktails at Tatler’s garden terrace.
Fashion Saturday is part of Sydney Is Fashion, a month-long program of the city’s best fashion events throughout September, including Vogue Fashion’s Night Out and Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Sydney.
