Sydney Good Food Wine Show

If you didn't make it to the Sydney Good Food Wine show this year, be sure to put it in your diary for things to do in Sydney next year! To be honest I wasn't going to go, as I thought getting there by train was too hard, but I'm pleased to say, it's easy and I'm glad I did.

Mayu (my sister in law) and myself were invited to a pre-opening of the doors on Sunday to Citi's VIP breakfast. It was a fabulous spread with guest speakers @garymehigan @alistairjmcleod and @bellasfeast and yes, we were drinking sparkling at 9.00 am - as you do! Once breakfast was finished and the doors opened it was time to explore. By the way, if you haven't heard about Citibank's Dining Programme, then check it out because you can receive a free bottle of wine when you dine at partner restaurants.

The Sydney Good Food Wine Show is a foodie and wine lover paradise! A little different from other shows because you purchase your glass for tasting, however some exhibitors have small disposable cups and you can bring your glass from the previous year. I know at some other shows you need to buy tasting tickets for sample of wine and that can be expensive. The number of exhibitors was phenomenal, and so much to taste. Tickets to this show from $24 general pre-book and $130 VIP.

My winner was finding more truffle mustard. I have a thing about truffle mustard and often indulge in making myself a breakfast croissant with ham, truffle mustard and cheese. Try it!

We decided to check out all the food first. There was so much from Cheese to Macarons!

So many stalls and great things to see and you wonder how you are going to fit it all in!

Then of course there were celebrity Chefs. Here is Miguel Maestre cooking up a huge pot of paella.

There was plenty of wine to try and plenty of other fabulous liquors too. The young man in the photo below is the youngest of a few generations of a Limocello makers with a recipe handed down through the family. It was tasty too!

We also sampled some ginger wine and KAPOW that packs a punch! I bought a bottle to have a drop in my sparkling mineral water, however it makes a nice little warming drink just on its own.

I had a chance to talk to many of the exhibitors and the day was a lot of fun plus I ended up with a few shopping bags to bring home too.

Thanks to Citi for inviting us and shout out to LIVEN app for arranging tickets also for Sydney Chic.
