The Collection is designed by duo, Edwina Robinson and Adrian Norris with a collaboration with Pwerle Gallery to present the Awelye collection.
The Resort 17/18 collection gives new life to the artwork of iconic indigenous artist Minnie Pwerle in a celebration of indigenous Australian art. Anmatyerre is the tribal word for women’s ceremonies, and is a coming together of the body, the land, and the community through ritualistic dance. The use of flowing layers, colours and boldness combines body, land and community for an elegant, but bold statement.
The unveiling of the collection included the premier of a short film shot in the Northern Territory, an area of great inspiration to Minnie Pwerle. The film is directed by Hannah Scott Stevenson, with the creative direction of Bridie Gilbert, and starring Australian model, Jeet Pavlovic.
