Another fab place to go shopping for bargains is Birkenhead Point in Drummoyne. I was a resident in Drummoyne many years ago and Birkenhead Point was always the place to go and grab a bargain. There are a range of retailers in the centre that specialize in homewares. www.birkenheadpoint.com.au

DFO in Homebush is another great centre for grabbing a bargain; you will find homewares on the ground floor. With a massive $100 million upgrade in 2014 the centre now has over 120 stores, plenty of carparking and whilst you are there lots of places to grab a bite to eat. www.dfo.com.au/homebush

In the CBD Victoria’s basement is the place to shop for chinaware, kitchenware, glassware, cooking utensils and much more. It’s also a great place to find gifts and at Christmas time it’s chaos. There are plenty of bargains to find at Victoria’s basement, I would spend hours in there if I had the time. www.victoriasbasement.com.au

Alexandria is full of clearance stores; many are fashion however there are still plenty of homeware and decorating bargains to be found. Most stores are in Mcevoy Street and Botany Road where you will find homewares and kitchenware outlets like Victoria’s Basement, Sunbeam, Peter’s of Kensington, and World Kitchen.

After shopping head on up to the Grounds of Alexandria-- it’s a fabulous dining experience with fresh produce and amazing eateries. The Grounds of Alexandria is almost like a mini country town in the middle of industrial. Well that’s how I perceive it. The Grounds of Alexandria is truly a great place to spend some time, especially after some serious bargain hunting. www.thegrounds.com.au
