Campos Coffee Launch in Dulwich Hill

Last night, I attended, the Campos hosted VIP media launch party to celebrate the opening of their flagship store in Dulwich Hill. The store is beautifully designed, with a welcoming atmosphere thanks to Sydney designers Luchetti Krelle; I picked up a couple of ideas for home!

The event started from 5.30pm and we were treated to drinks, food and an opportunity to meet the team behind Campos Coffee. An intimate event, Will Young (Managing Director) explained the concept behind Campos Coffee, their commitment to ethical projects and the opening of the Dulwich Hill store.

After being asked about the ‘difference’ between the Newtown and Dulwich Hill stores several times, Will Young addressed the guests and pointed out that a lot of what you can expect at Dulwich Hill will be “the same” and he is truly proud of this fact – why? Because Campos has a commitment to excellence. The main difference between Newtown and Dulwich Hill is simply the space – you can still expect the same quality coffee and impeccable service; this is something that Will hopes will always remain “the same”.

Having more space has allowed Campos Dulwich Hill to offer their customers lunch. “We will be serving a selection of pastries as we have always done at Campos Newtown and Don Campos Alexandria. In addition, Dulwich Hill will provide light lunch items including sandwiches, baguettes and sausage rolls. All items will be made and supplied from our bakery, Rosetta Stone, in Alexandria.” – Will Young

On top of this Campos launched their new Affogato tasting tray and the Baby Affogato, along with a seasonal signature drink menu available across all of their flagship stores. Will explained the concept, “Entries for the signature drink will be submitted by our baristas each season and the top three selected by a judging panel. These drinks will then be made available in stores. The drink with the highest amount of sales will “win”, with the winning barista receiving $1 for every drink sold across our flagship stores. We predict some pretty gorgeous coffee coming this summer.”

We enjoyed espresso martinis, exclusively created for the event using fresh Campos espresso and Alaskan Rock Vodka. Other drinks available were Flaxman Wines and Batch Brewing Co beers.

It was great to meet Will and have a chat about Campos and Rafael (Director) who told me that the company has grown by building relationships and trust.

Head down to Campos in Dulwich Hill you won’t be disappointed.
