Restaurant Review: The Tall Lemongrass Crows Nest

There’s a popular Thai restaurant in Crows Nest called The Tall Lemongrass and I was invited down to try it out for lunch recently with foodie, Arrnott Olssen, from www.roguehomme.com

We arrived for an early lunch at 12.00pm I immediately noticed that this restaurant is quite spacious and I liked the décor especially the lights and wall hangings.

Our waitress was very pleasant and brought us over green tea to sip as we looked at the menu. It wasn’t an easy choice because there was quite a variety including some specials. We decided to order a few dishes to be brought out at once and not to have wine as it was a little too early in the day.

Almond Prawns

Flaked Almond Crusted Prawns with a Sweet Chilli Dip

These were my favourite the almonds go very nicely with the prawns and as you can see from the photos they look as good as they taste.

Coconut Prawns

Deep fried battered prawns with dehydrated coconut flesh

These were tasty too although I felt a little less batter would have made it even better.

Pork with Carmel Sauce

As you can see from the photo, this is a very tasty dish and the sticky sauce gave a nice flavour. The crackling was crunchy, I could only eat one because it is quite filling.

Barramundi with Salad

This is a typical Thai dish, crispy fried with a generous serving of salad.

When we first arrived at the restaurant we were the only diners however that soon changed and it filled up which is a good sign, especially on a Tuesday for lunch. The Tall Lemongrass is a great value Thai, it’s clean and the staff are friendly and efficient.
