Canberra may hold the title of the official capital of Australia, and Melbourne may claim the cultural capital label, but Sydney is by far the country's most iconic state. As the home of the Sydney Opera House and a handful of other quintessential Australian attractions, the city of Sydney has long been on lists for must-see locations around the world.

With that in mind, we thought we’d show you what all of the fuss is about and take you on a tour of some of Sydney’s must-see spots and must-do activities. Follow us, as we make our way through the famous sun-soaked city and all its sights.

Check-In In Style

One thing you’ll quickly notice about Sydney is how synonymous the city is with style. Everything has been immaculately designed, from its fashion all the way through to the architecture within and around the Sydney CBD. Naturally, it would make complete sense to stay somewhere that is just as chic and glamorous.

The Hyatt Regency in Sydney exudes glamour and sophistication. You’ll adore the prime location which is opposite Darling Harbour in Sydney’s CBD. This means that not only will you be surrounded by luxury but just about everything else you could need or want, due to the hotel’s central location. You can enjoy unparalleled views of the famous Harbour Bridge as you sip your coffee in bed, or should you wish to eat elsewhere, the luxurious hotel includes a restaurant to enthral your taste buds. Whether you’re checking in for a weekend of opulence, or just to enjoy the finer things in life, we can guarantee that you will enjoy your stay at the Hyatt Regency or any of Sydney’s other luxury accommodation options.

Bondi To Coogee Walk

One way to get your steps in whilst you explore the sights in Sydney is to walk the Bondi to Coogee walk. In typical Sydney style, this 6km walk is filled with uninterrupted, breathtaking views starting from Icebergs Bondi. Throughout your journey you’ll be met with blue ocean and golden sand, the soundtrack of your day being the sweet sound of children's laughter against crashing waves. This is one of those experiences that truly highlights the beauty of Australia’s east coast, as it showcases our unmatched beaches, the incredible Sydney weather and landscape, and the kind and relaxed energy of the people who call this vibrant city home.

Do The Iconic Bridge Walk

You can’t go to Sydney and bypass the iconic Sydney Harbour Bridge, which also just happened to have its 90th anniversary! Simply put, there has never been a better time to do your very own bridge climb.

The bridge climb has been around for 24 years, and if you’ve been waiting for your partner to pop that question, then it might be worth hiking up to the top as since the bridge climb opened, over 5000 people have proposed. A potential proposal on the Harbour Bridge is a superb reason to start planning a romantic getaway to Sydney.

When walking the bridge, it takes approximately 1,332 steps to reach the summit which overlooks much of the beautiful city. Not only is the view at the top breathtaking, but as you make your way there, you’re met with the mesmerising architecture that has become so synonymous with Sydney. All things considered, the Harbour Bridge climb is absolutely a must-do next time you’re in the city.

Get The Ultimate Insta At The Opera House

Continuing through Sydney’s landmarks, next on the list is Sydney’s stunning Opera House. This building is the very embodiment of architectural design done right. It is in fact so beautiful that in 2007 it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage list.

The Opera House is home to a 2,679-seat concert hall, which is used to this day as a multipurpose performing arts facility. If you don’t have time to see one of the performances, but are still looking to do something in and around the Opera House, then we highly recommend booking yourself a dinner at its internal restaurant. Bennelong is a fine dining establishment with an Australian cuisine-themed menu by famed chef Peter Gilmore. So whether you’re posing for a photo op on the outside or dining in style on the inside, the Opera House has truly earned its spot both on this list and on your trip itinerary.
