Sydney Chic chats with Casey Burgess about Dry July

I chatted with Casey Burgess on her participation on Dry July and Casey has kindly written for Sydney Chic on her best places to eat in Sydney.

Casey has also shared her favourite Sydney cafes and restaurants with Sydney Chic.....

As I am doing DRY JULY again for the second time, I need good places to eat and drink that make being alcohol free easy! If the food is good and the drink choices aren’t just restricted to alcohol, then you don't really need alcohol to enjoy yourself do you?

Here is a list of a few of my favourite places in Sydney:

Cafes-

  • JO AND WILLY'S DEPOT in North Bondi - Whatever you order get the pesto on the side = YUM

  • LUXE in Woollahra - They do a fabulous coffee, and the best toasties and avocado on toast (with lemon and salt and pepper on delish soy linseed bread )

  • BERTONI CAFE in Balmain - Incredible coffee and if you feel like a naughty treat the doughnut filled with nutella is a magical journey

  • INDIGO in Double Bay - For a healthy freshly squeezed juice, along with a salad the size of your head. Healthy and filling!

Restaurants -

  • CORNER HOUSE in Bondi - Have a casual pizza and ginger beer upstairs, or sit downstairs and order the cauliflower salad with a main dish as well. So good.

  • DEN SUSHI in Rose Bay - My favourite japanese in town, the salmon salad is to die for , and get a miso to replace drinking!

  • BERTONI RESTAURANT - This Italian restaurant touches all of your tastebuds with love. the food is exquisite ( get the pork ) and you will miss not having a glass of red but just stick with sparkling mineral water , the food is enough!

  • WINE LIBRARY - (yes just replace the wine with ….water… ) BUT this is such a beautiful and quainte restaurant where sitting at the bar is casual yet classy. The tapas style share plates are beyond tasty that you won't even be thinking about alcohol. The truffle arancini balls are incredible .

LIttle Pitt Stops - ( for something light )

  • BRUCE LEAVES in Bondi - For a delicious healthy salad / juice

  • KITCHEN BY MIKE in Alexandria - For a delicious tea and little sweet treat

  • NUTRITION STATION in Bondi Junction - for a protein hit with a smoothie or breakfast/ lunch. Healthy and so delicious.
