It's Autumn Today and Also the First day of Moments on Twitter for Australia

It's the first day of Autumn today and also the first day of Moments on Twitter for Australia. As a Social Media Marketer I've been waiting for this 'moment' for quite a while, knowing that other countries were already up and running with this feature.

Behind the local Twitter Moments rollout, both the NRL and AFL are among the launch partners.

From the NRL

"The NRL are excited to work with Twitter Australia for the launch of Twitter Moments in Australia. The opportunity to curate our own official NRL Moments will enable us to reach an even bigger audience of NRL fans on Twitter, while also enabling us to publish high quality club, fan and official social content on nrl.com via embeddable Twitter Moments." Rebekah Horne – Chief Digital Officer, NRL

From the AFL “We’re pleased to partner with Twitter for the launch of Moments in Australia on the eve of the 2016 Toyota AFL Premiership Season. Fan engagement goes to another level as our live events unfold and Twitter Moments will allow us to reach even more footy fans with the very best news, video and photos from the AFL Media team, as well as clubs, players and fans.” Tyson Densley - Social Media Manager, AFL

Moments is a new product feature that will enable sports organisations to reach even more fans, drive higher engagement and curate the very best live scores, highlights and news surrounding key moments in the sporting calendar. The new tool, which will be a separate tab on the Twitter app and browser page, curates content relating to the best content on Twitter in one place without having to follow particular accounts or users. Moments is perfect for fans to jump on Twitter and keep up to date with games if they aren’t near a TV or at the game. For example, it will be the one-stop location for fans to follow the T20 World Cup this month as Australian TV networks are not looking likely to broadcast the tournament.
