Your wedding is the biggest day of your life, and your wedding photos are how you and your loved ones will remember it forever. They should reflect your personality, your relationship, and your life together. We've scouted out five fantastic locations for wedding photos in the Sydney area. Whether you're looking for something traditional, modern, natural, or even a little more exotic, one of these picturesque spots is sure to be right for you.
Angel Place Laneway Art

Angel Place's art installation Forgotten Songs, featuring dozens of birdcages dangling over an alleyway, has become a popular spot for wedding and engagement photos, and even a pop-up wedding or two! And since it's a public area, you don't have to make reservations or pay to take photos there. We love it for its "urban chic" feel; this would be especially great for young, modern couples looking for something that's both inventive and romantic at the same time. It's also right near a few other picturesque spots, so if you feel like exploring, you might find some other nice places for photos
Chinese Garden of Friendship

The Chinese Garden of Friendship in Chinatown, designed by our sister city of Guangzhou, is full of lush, exotic locations that would make for an exceptionally unique set of wedding photos in Sydney. Clear lakes and waterfalls, quiet pathways with ornamental trees, and traditional Chinese architecture offer a variety of beautiful photo opportunities. The Garden is popular both for wedding photography and the weddings themselves. We especially love it for its elegance and the contrast of the Asian architecture against the greenery of the trees and bamboo.
The University of Sydney

If you're looking for a touch of the traditional, the University of Sydney has architecture that will make you feel like you're in the middle of a fairy tale. Ornate gates and doorways and old-fashioned spires are perfect for all the storybook couples out there. Though do note that there's a fee to take photographs there. You can find out more about this on the University's website.
Hire an Ice Cream Cart

With all that wide-open space, a venue like this would also be perfect for setting up a turn-of-the-century scene. One possibility is hiring an ice cream cart. Not only does it make for a novel, charming set piece, it also means everyone can have ice cream after the photoshoot is over!
The Rocks

For sheer variety, I've always found The Rocks to be a perfect photo spot. It's another great urban location with a variety of traditional architectural styles, quiet alleyways, archways, shops, and stairways. A group could spend an entire afternoon just exploring the area and getting brand new photo ideas at every turn. The area is just urban enough to lend a slightly modern look to the shoot, but traditional enough to give your photos a little something special. We're especially fond of the shop fronts and fire escapes, but everything here is lovely.
Centennial Park

Looking for something a little more in tune with the great outdoors? Centennial Park contains many different natural settings to fit whatever style you're going for. There are secluded forests, beautiful gardens, and wide green lawns with reflective pools, all perfect for an outdoor photoshoot. A great photo would be of those shady groves just as the sun is setting and casting beams of light through the trees! Centennial Park is also a popular wedding destination in itself, and you can book your wedding here if you so desire.
With a wealth of beautiful locations in and around Sydney, we're sure you'll find exactly what you're looking for to make your wedding photos as perfect and memorable as the big day itself.
