Feast at Sheraton on the Park Christmas in July Buffet

They don't call this restaurant "Feast" for nothing! I'm talking about Sheraton on the Park's restaurant., Feast. Feast is currently offering The Christmas in July buffet until 31st July.

On offer is a traditional festive buffet for “Christmas in July”. This year’s menu includes a live station with Roast Turkey, Maple and clove glazed leg of ham, Roast beef rib with Yorkshire pudding, cranberry sauce, chipolatas with bacon, giblet gravy, dried fruit and nut stuffing and on the weekend a whole suckling pig or garlic and rosemary infused whole baby lamb. My recommendation is go and get a second helping of the ham! Seriously I think the best that I have ever had.

As well as the fabulous Christmas Fare the restaurant is catering for all tastes. For those who prefer some Japanese, Sushi is on offer and for the Chinese taste there is an abundance of dishes.

Lovers of Seafood will be in heaven when they set eyes on the seafood buffet. Choose from shellfish, Sydney Rock oysters, mussels, smoked salmon and more.

Now if it's dessert you are after then be warned it will be hard to choose because there are so many. Andrew and I decided on the pear and cranberry crumble and it was a real treat.

There is a good wine list and we enjoyed: Meerea Park Hilltops Hunter Valley 2014 Shiraz.

During our dining at Feast, Andrew got up to check out the buffet. He was gone such a long time I went looking for him, only to discover he was so astonished at the amount of food on offer, it took him a while to try and figure out what he was going to eat.

Personally, I had already made my mind up it was a starter of prawns and oysters. The prawns were sweet and juicy and, as for the oysters; they were dainty and also quite sweet – perfect with a squeeze of lemon. My second choice was the Christmas roast and it had to have a traditional Yorkshire pudding with it. It was delicious.

I could have gone back for more but I'm one of those people that once I am full, that's it I stop! Now typing up this post I wish I was right back that buffet! The seafood buffet always has quite a crowd around it at the beginning of the sitting, so my advice is to hold off the seafood when you first arrive and try something from one of the other buffets; then go to the get the seafood once everyone else has already been.
