Verdem Skincare - When It's Not Botox But Better

Cards on the table here; I've never had Botox or any other injectables because quite frankly, having needles in my face full of goodness knows what scares me. The closest I've had is some Picosure Laser treatment. I've probably had a maximum of 10 facials in my life and I'm pretty sceptical that any skincare can really turn back time. Don't get me wrong, I love skincare products but nothing has ever made feel that my skin actually looks younger. Any review I've done on this blog is because I've loved the products, and yes all help moisturise and keep my skin glowing but not to the extent where I could honestly look at myself and see a massive difference in wrinkle reduction.

Until.

Hello Magen!

Photo: Magen and Deb after treatment

I was booked in for a facial with Verdem in the QVB, Sydney. Magen is one of the founders and lives and breathes skincare. He specialises in skin problems. I don't have any skin problems except I'm old! So of course fine lines and wrinkles are all part of the process of getting older. It was suggested I have a snake venom treatment. Snake venom! OMG I've just encountered two snakes on my recent trip to the country to see my family; I'm a bit snake shaken at the moment! I'm one for adventure though so I thought I'd go ahead with this snake venom treatment. Oh, and it gets better, Magen suggests we have some Bee venom as well! Bee venom! I was attacked by a swarm of bees when I was about 6 and I'm still psychology damaged from that!

I enter the treatment room and Magen and I hit it off straight away. We both have the same philosophy's on life. Magen tells me the mask he puts on me will feel warm. Yes, he is right! I like it! It feels so luxurious and I feel my skin soaking up the goodies (snake venom)! I later learn that the mask can get warmer but my skin apparently is in good shape so my mask cools pretty quickly. Then Magen also applies my treatment to my Décolletage. Mine is in pretty bad shape to be honest; dry and wrinkles from years of sun damage. Warning to youngsters reading this – stay out of the sun that tan isn't worth it.

Magan used a number of products on me: I'll list those below and the treatment was bliss. I also had a hand treatment which made a huge difference.

Once the treatment was over I was really surprised how my skin looked. It was smooth. My Décolletage especially was a huge transformation as well as the skin on my neck. In fact one of the products that Magan used on me his mother has a nick name for (My Neck Super Glue). Lol. I get why she says that.

Magan also applied some of the special Viperlift serum under my eyes. As I mentioned before I have never had Botox but I walked out of the salon thinking that this is what it must feel like. I could actually feel the skin tighter. As I write this a few days later I still feel that firmness, and it almost feels like my skin has been plumped up.

I wish I had these products when I was in my younger years because I'm convinced my skin would have remained looking far more youthful. It's a few days now since the facial and my face is much smoother, my neck and Décolletage is visibly different.

These products and treatments are not the cheapest on the market but I think worth the investment if you want to keep your skin youthful. The products are beautiful and also last a long time; a little goes a long way.

I'm keeping up the treatment at home. Magan recommends 1 facial per week for 4 weeks then one a month for maintenance.
