Duke and Duchess of Sussex Visit Madame Tussauds Sydney

The wait is over! This July, get ready to roll out the red carpet as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex touch down at their new home and join the rest of the Royal family at Madame Tussauds Sydney.

Inspired by the most iconic looks from their recent visit to Australia, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s brand new wax figures – designed specifically for Madame Tussauds Sydney - will be a permanent feature at the Darling Harbour attraction as part of a brand new ‘The Royal Academy’ interactive experience.

Taking over six months to create, Meghan Markle’s striking figure is the masterpiece of 800 hours of craftsmanship, by a skilled and dedicated team of over 100 sculptors, artists and stylists from Madame Tussauds’ central studios in London. Oozing sophistication, the Duchess of Sussex is dressed in the Dion Lee ‘Folded Sail’ dress in navy blue, in tribute to day 3 of the Royal Tour in Australia. Meghan flashes a beautifully beaming smile, and is accessorised with nude heels and subtle jewellery in the style of the day’s outfit, as well as her engagement ring and wedding band.

The Duke of Sussex matches his blushing bride, dressed in his trademark navy blue suit, white shirt and light blue tie also from day three of the recent visit. Each individual hair was inserted strand by strand, taking almost six weeks alone – and that’s not even including his beard!

“I can’t think of two more current or exciting additions to the Madame Tussauds Sydney family than Prince Harry and Meghan Markle,” says Mark Connolly, General Manager of Madame Tussauds Sydney. “From the wedding last year and the arrival of Baby Archie this year – Harry and Meghan are adored by the world and we know that our local and international guests would love them too!

“It’s Royal fever here in Darling Harbour! Harry and Meghan are here to stay, and are part of an all new Royal Experience. We invite all guests to experience the Royal Academy and snap the ultimate selfie with the golden couple on their very own personalised cookie!”

The Duke and Duchess arrive as part of a revamped Royal experience which invites guests to walk, talk and dress like a royalty! Guests are then invited to join the British Royal Family portrait, alongside Her Majesty the Queen, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle!

To help guests feel confident in the presence of royalty, the Madame Tussauds Sydney ‘Instant Royal Academy’ coaches guests on etiquette, teaching all how to correctly address a Royal, sit gracefully, curtsy like a lady and perfect the Royal wave.

To sweeten the experience, the first 20 walk-up customers each day during the NSW school holidays (July 6th-21st) will receive a memorabilia biscuit, personalised with their Royal portrait or selfie. The bespoke biscuits are otherwise available to purchase in-attraction.
