Saltbox Redfern tables set for an event

A glam function venue has opened in the Sydney suburb of Redfern in an area that formerly had a reputation for violence.

The modern, expansive new development has gentrified the precinct and Saltbox is leading the reinvention.

The layout is versatile, the atmosphere is welcoming and the staff have been well trained.

However, the most outstanding features are the points of difference and the food.

Italian prosciutto machine

There's an Italian prosciutto machine that needs a license to operate.

At the opening there was a Turkish section that had soft serve Turkish ice cream, milk pie, pismaniye (Turkish cotton candy) and many varieties of Turkish delight. Saltbox also makes distinctive butters on site. Varieties include Caramelised Miso & Nori, Habanero Honey, Garlic & Herb, and Feta, Lemon & Oregano.

There’s a cart where you can spread a variety of toppings on brownies, white chocolate brownies, macadamia fudge and lemon cake. The strawberry feta spread is special.

Dessert table with flowers, candy bowls, and a soft-serve machine near a window. Warm colors, inviting setting, and a display sign.

There’s an on-site audio/visual company but client corporations are welcome to use their own A/V operators.

Unfortunately, Saltbox doesn’t operate as a restaurant so the only way you can experience its specialness is to book the venue for a wedding, party, conference, product launch or other event.
