PARKROYAL's Pop Up in Parramatta by Arrnott Olssen

The twilight pop-up is a joint-partnership with PARKROYAL Parramatta as part of the Parramatta City Council’s program aimed at contributing to the diversity and vibrancy of Parramatta. The initiative will once again bring to life the Erby Place prescient after the success of the Parramatta Lanes festival in 2013.

Parramatta Lord Mayor Cr John Chedid said the City’s latest pop-up concept has been created by PARKROYAL Parramatta’s BAR:30 team with support from Council’s Activate Parramatta program.

“Council is always looking for new ways to revitalise public space in the Parramatta CBD to make the city more inviting, vibrant and creative,” Cr Chedid said.

“I congratulate PARKROYAL Parramatta on taking this initiative and doing something that will stimulate the Parramatta night time economy and attract more visitors to our City.”

The pop-up bar will open every Friday this February and March from 4:30pm to 9:30pm.

The green space beneath the canopy of jacaranda trees in Erby Place is being transformed into an outdoor beer garden and will come alive with music and a selection of locally produced brews. The BAR:30 team will be serving up premium Batlow Cider and specialty craft beers from Parramatta micro-brewery Riverside Brewing Company.

PARKROYAL Parramatta’s General Manager, Michael Johnson says with BAR:30 already a favourite among locals, the extended pop-up bar will create a great atmosphere for all workers, locals and visitors alike to relax and unwind on Friday evenings.

“We are delighted to be able to bring back the pop-up bar and once again offer a twilight experience, as well as partnering with two companies that reflect our ethos of supporting community initiatives and connecting our guests with local experiences – all while serving up tasty brew.

The pop-up bar will be supported by food trucks that will be offering rustic to gourmet delights, rotating their culinary offerings each Friday for a diverse range of food to be enjoyed alongside one of the beers or ciders served up by the PARKROYAL Parramatta BAR:30 team.

The pop-up bar will be open from the 7th February to 28th March on Friday evenings between 4:30pm and 9:30pm, so hopefully I’ll catch you there!
