Pia Miller named Chile's Celebrity Tourism Ambassador for this year's Good Food and Wine Show

Chilean-born beauty Pia Miller has been named the first Australian Celebrity Ambassador to represent the south American Country as Chile begins a major campaign to lure Australians to one of the most exciting destinations across the Pacific.
Miller, who grew up in the Chilean coastal town of Viña del Mar before coming to Australia with her family aged four, will play an integral part of Chile's participation in the Good Food and Wine Shows - participating in Melbourne's event over the weekend, with Sydney and Perth to come over the coming month.
Known for her elegant looks, extensive acting, modelling and presenting career, Miller will join Chile's stand at on Saturday 28 June at 1pm as it takes its Australian activities to the Sydney Good Food and Wine Show at Olympic Park following the success of last weekend's Melbourne events.
Miller says: "Chile and Australia are both special to me, so it's very exciting to be representing both countries as I take on this role as Chile's tourism Ambassador during their promotion in Australia."
With a passion for her heritage still burning strong, Miller says she likens many of Australia's selling points with those of Chile.
"Whilst I have called Australia home for many years, I am constantly reminded of Chile's beauty when strolling along Australia's beaches, looking down into the highlands when flying overhead, or even when I see Chilean wine on the menu!" she says.
This fits perfectly with Chile's stand which is emblazoned with a massive surfing image - something not normally associated with Chile, but part of the many activities Australians can do while exploring the country.
Turismo Chile General Manager Andrea Wolleter says “It's great for us to be able to count on Pia promoting her country of origin. We know she will play an integral role at the Good Food and Wine Shows as she is the perfect link between the two countries. Pia represents the beauty and cultural links Australia and Chile have in common," Wolleter says.
"Chile is the gateway to South America for Australians. Although many Australians see South America as a single destination they should consider spending all their time in Chile. There is so much to see and do."
The Chilean presence at the Good Food and Wine Shows will give future Australian tourists the chance to soak up the great atmosphere they could experience when travelling to Chile. There will be tourism information on display and more importantly, Chile will be showcasing their best wines, beer and famous cocktails.
Pia Miller will be attending the Sydney Good Food and Wine Events on the following date, and be helping Australians understand how fun Chileans are and why it’s a country worth discovering on their next holiday!
