Sydney Chic Signature Cocktails

Yes it's true! We have two great cocktails for you to make thanks to SouthTrade Trainer Neilsen Braid who came up with these recipes just for Sydney Chic. To try out the cocktails I headed over to South Trade's Milson's Point office where I met up with Joanne and Neilson. Pictured above is a pic I took of the Tito's Vodka Cocktail. This fresh cocktail is similar to a Negroni and I enjoyed it very much. I love the flavour of citrus and this certainly had that tang to it. Here's the recipe:

45ml Tito’s Handmade Vodka

20ml Sweet Vermouth

10ml Campari

15ml spiced Chardonnay syrup

2 dashes Xocolat Mole bitters

Build the above ingredients in a highball glass with ice, sliced pink grapefruit, peach, mint and orange peel. Top with Fever-Tree Ginger Ale

The other treat I tasted was the Botanist Gin Cocktail. This one had quite a strong flavour of cucumber which I found very refreshing and mixed with the fruit and other ingredients made for a delicious blend of flavours. Here's the recipe:

45ml The Botanist Gin

30ml Sweet Vermouth

4 dashes Regan’s Orange Bitters

Build the above ingredients in a highball glass with ice, cucumber, mint, orange peel, lemon peel, sliced strawberry and edible flowers. Top with Fever-Tree Mediterranean Tonic Water

.

The spirits are all available at Dan Murphy’s or even your local independent bottle shop.

Botanist Gin Notes Contains 22 foraged botanicals from the Isle of Islay in Scotland

We have tried to replicate this emphasis on foraged ingredients in Australia by starting ‘The Botanist Foraged Cocktail Competition’ which encourages bartenders in Australia to document their foraging journeys and share with us on social media (our winner from 2014 will be heading over to Islay in 2015 for her own foraged journey)

Tito’s Vodka Notes

Made in Texas in the USA at the first and oldest distillery in the state.

It is naturally gluten free

This is the 3rd most popular vodka in the USA right now

Fever-Tree Premium Mixers Notes

If ¾ of your drink is the mixer, make sure you use the best. A UK company started in 2005 because of a lack of premium mixers available on the market. Fever-Tree essentially pioneered the premium drinks mixer category!

Unrivalled ingredient sourcing – all ingredients are sourced from small specialist suppliers around the world.
