Situated above the Red Lion Hotel in Rozelle, The Green Lion gives people the opportunity to enjoy plant based pub food. You can get hearty meals such as Mac & Cheese, Bean Beef Nachos, and even Lasagna. The Green Mack Burger is not to be missed though, being a vegan alternative to McDonalds iconic Big Mac. If you have enough room in your stomach for dessert, Pavlova, a variety of cheesecakes and even fudge brownies are available.
Delivering traditional Italian flavours to King Street in Newtown, Gigi Pizzeria is a must visit for pizza lovers. Gigi is one of the few pizzerias in Sydney which is a member of the True Neapolitan Pizza Association, with hand-stretched dough, and traditionally topped wood fired pizza. Desserts and gelato are also fresh and made on premises.
Vegan options aren’t the only thing on the menu at Sadhana Kitchen, with organic, raw, gluten free, and refined sugar free food also available. The menu is seasonal, with dishes made from plant-based wholefoods, with mostly everything made from scratch. One of the best things is All Day Breakfast, from an epic acai bowl to house made vegan eggs, why not enjoy a feast with a frappe to match.
Bodhi Restaurant pioneered vegan yum cha, and use locally grown organic fresh produce. This means that they regularly change their Asian menu. Everything is also freshly prepared and carefully hand crafted daily, to ensure you receive only the best food available. A variety of dumplings, noodles, spring rolls and even sweet doughnuts are on the menu.
Earth to Table
Honouring the environment, Earth to Table creates delicious meals using the finest organic ingredients. They also serve raw food which is gluten free, wheat free, dairy free and sugar free, aligning with their philosophy of delivering food in its most pure form. Dishes including Alfredo Pasta, Shepherds Pie, and supercharged salads are on offer. Although the savoury food is tempting, we suggest leaving room for an organic raw dessert such as a fudge brownie, which can be served with a scoop of their dairy free house made coconut cashew ice cream.
You won’t find a more creamy or delicious variety of gelato than what is available at Gelato Blue. They are Sydney’s first plant based gelateria, and serve artisan gelato made from scratch. With twenty-five flavours to choose from, the possibilities are definitely overwhelming. But the salted caramel is absolutely divine. You can even get sundaes served with either a doughnut or brownie, with a scoop of gelato of your choice, covered in chocolate topping and nuts, finished with a waffle cone on top. Yum!
Pana Chocolate is arguably one of the best vegan chocolates on the market, with a variety of unique flavours including sour cherry and vanilla, fig and wild orange, and pineapple and ginger. Although the chocolate can be ordered online, the store in Sydney allows you to taste test and find your favourite flavour.
