High Tea at The Gallery, Sheraton on The Park Sydney

It was a beautiful Spring afternoon and I was off to join one of our contributor's, Kaoko at Sheraton on the Park for High tea. I walked down from Potts Point and strolled through Hyde Park loving the sweet smell of Wisteria permeating the air with its fragrance. I always enjoy visiting Sheraton on the Park, it's a lovely hotel and I have enjoyed many dining experiences there.

Kayoko and I had a table by the window that overlooked Hyde Park and we started with a glass of champagne before our delightful High Tea arrived on a three tier stand. The only problem I could see was there was so much food! Would we get through it all? We were advised that we could also have scones, with jam and cream as well if we felt like it? I was pretty convinced we wouldn't need any additional food after feasting on these treats.

The High Tea consisted of some fabulous savoury treats and a range of colourful sweets.

Kaoko and I enjoyed:

Wagyu quiche

Bourbon & pepper glazed slow roasted Wagyu, horseradish, gruyere cream & ice plant on smoked peppered white bread

Goats Brie crostini with semi dried salted muntries & micro tarragon

Warm filo cigar with spanner crab, sea asparagus & saffron ginger gel (above)

Confit of corn fed chicken rillettes with tarragon, crisp mandarin on brioche

My stand out was the saffron gel and it was hard to pick a favourite because everything on the plate was so enjoyable.

We managed to get through the savoury dishes so it was time to tackle the sweets! I prefer savoury over sweets but I had to have a little nibble at each of these delicate creations.

Yuzu honey lemon cake

Black forest tart

Hazelnut & blueberry Paris-Brest

Chocolate sablé with Earl Grey ganache

Raspberry mousse and basil crémeux

Mandarin yogurt terrine

The little Black Forest Tart was my favourite pictured below (the little cakes with the cherry top).

The Gallery's High Tea is far more creative than your usual high tea with ribbon sandwiches. I thoroughly enjoyed exploring the tastes of what was on offer.

High tea rendezvous with $80 per person High tea experience with Domaine Blanc De Blancs $72 per person High tea tree stand $59 per person.

The following two photos below were not part of the high tea, they were part of the cakes on display.
